Set Sail and Sip With Davidson Wine Co.

A warm breeze, cold wine, and beautiful views. All of which Charlotte PinC experienced aboard the “Lady of the Sea” in Lake Norman, in partnership with Davidson Wine Co.

About an hour north of uptown Charlotte, you will find yourself in Mooresville, NC. A small country lake town, only accessible by a 2-lane winding road. Not too far down that road is “Queens Landing,” an indoor and outdoor dock with a beautiful patio. We got our tickets just in time to enjoy the lake breeze on the patio before boarding promptly at 7:15 p.m

The next two hours were spent singing, sightseeing, eating, and sipping. A ticket for this “Sip and Sail’ event included tapas and a wine flight for sampling. We snacked on scallop ceviche, crispy pork belly, and more, while a live band played classic old-school hits. Our wine flight was a variety of Davidson Wine’s rose, red wine, and pinot noir. Chef kisses to the menu curator as the wine and tapas pairing were phenomenal. The presentation of both the tapas and wine, along with such a beautiful day and evening made me feel like royalty, at this very exclusive event

Davidson Wine Co. produces the usual wines, including Merlots, Cabernets, and Chardonnays. They also vinificate (the fancy word for winemaking), more exclusive wines such as Viognier, Petit Verdot, and Ports. They source grapes globally which allows them to make over 30 different kinds of wine, using grapes from the best grape-growing regions in the world. Owned and operated by Lindsey Williams, a lawyer turned winemaker, who resides in Davidson. Lindsey’s desire was to bring affordable and locally made wine options to the area. Five years later, she has not only accomplished that goal but exceeded it.
